Update: I changed the Swype video to a better feature introduction. Check it out!
Techcrunch wrote about the new Google/T-mobile’s G1 phone today. They claim it’s “It’s No iPhone, But It’s Close”. While the Android platform seems to be a cool idea, I think this new product misses its mark by a long shot.
Why? Well…Apple’s success with the iPhone wasn’t due to it’s software, but to the innovative multi-touch screen and Apple’s unbelievable marketing machine.
What could another company do to compete with Apple? Techcrunch featured an innovative startup at the TC50 event which offers a cool new technology which could be competitive with the iPhone multi-touch.
It’s called Swype and it takes predictive text to a whole new level.
