Today iList debuted as a social classified service and without a doubt this site blew away my expectations. It has a beautiful, intuitive & simple user interface. iList may not be the ‘Craigslist killler’, but it has revolutionizes online classifieds. It offers a seamless integration with many high traffic web services (Facebook, Twitter, FriendFeed & MySpace). The site has a high dose of data portability and it’s RESTful thanks to Rails. Last of all and perhaps most importantly iList released a well documented developer API right out of the gate.
When I first heard about this company a few months ago, I laughed at the banner “Craigslist is so 1995!”. I wasn’t laughing at the statement itself (which I agree with), but the blogosphere’s assertion that this may be the “Craigslist Killer”.
iList isn’t going to put Craigslist out of business any time soon, but it may determine the fate of Oodle (walmart), Kijiji (eBay) & Uloop.
Attention Yahoo!, here’s your chance to buy the next hot web property.
Mark my words…
